NATIONAL PARKS

The backbone of Tanzania’s conservation effort and the reason for its reputation as the best wildlife destination in Africa are its famed national parks and conservation areas. They were first made famous by the many wildlife films documenting the epic Serengeti annual migration, the elephants and tree climbing lions of Manyara, and Noah’s ark of Ngorongoro Crater.

With a total land area above 50,000km2, these parks and conservation areas protect various habitats from Coastal lagoons to glaciers on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the most significant wildlife populations anywhere.

We operate in all of Tanzania’s parks. The northern parks have the best visitor infrastructure and are therefore the most often visited of Tanzania’s conservation areas. Without a doubt the Serengeti is the best of the northern parks and is the epicentre for any northern wildlife safari. Our tented camps roam the Serengeti throughout the year making sure our guests enjoy the best seasonal wildlife at any time; the parks of Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro, add their unique charm to the northern wildlife safari, offering a truly unparalleled wildlife adventure. Far to the south, off the trodden tourist routes are the great wildlife havens of Ruaha & Katavi offering some of the best wilderness and wildlife experiences in Africa, while the montane forests of Udzungwa protect some of the rarest primates in the world. Further afield are Kitulo, Saadani, Mikumi and Mkomazi… like a string of pearls, varied, rich and beautiful, they keep our guests coming back to explore year after year.
